Call five shops and ask what car window tinting costs and you'll get five different numbers — usually without an explanation of what's behind them. Here's ours, in full. These are the same prices in the calculator on our window tinting page, so nothing below will surprise you at the counter.
Car Window Tinting Prices by Film
The film you pick sets the base price. We install LLumar film in three lines, full vehicle on a sedan or coupe:
ATC Carbon — from $250. Charcoal black with good privacy and solid heat rejection. The entry point, and a lot of car for the money.
CTX Ceramic — from $350. Nano-ceramic, up to 70% heat rejection, and no interference with phone or GPS signals. This is what most customers book.
IRX Premium Ceramic — from $450. 97% infrared rejection for the coolest cabin, with premium colour stability so it won't go purple in a few summers.
What Changes the Price
Two things move the number from there. First, vehicle size: SUVs and crossovers add about $30, trucks and vans about $50, because there's simply more glass. Second, coverage — you don't have to do the whole car. Two front windows run about 45% of the full-vehicle price (from $115 in ATC carbon), rear windows only about 65%, and a sun strip across the top of the windshield is $60 to $100 depending on film.
Full-windshield film is its own category: $220 for CTX 50%, $320 for IRX, or $350 for LLumar AIR 80, which is nearly clear and built purely for heat and UV rejection. We install shaded windshield film on request, but it is not street-legal in Ontario — tickets, fines, or inspection problems are on the owner, not the shop. If you want windshield heat rejection without that risk conversation, AIR 80 is the film to ask about. The legal side of every window is covered in our Ontario tint laws guide.
What to Expect on Install Day
Every install happens indoors at our Finchdene Square studio with the bay doors shut, so dust and pollen don't land on the adhesive while it sets. Most jobs drop off in the morning and pick up the same day. Your film is registered with LLumar's manufacturer warranty card — keep it with the car, especially if you sell.

Car Window Tinting Cost: FAQ
How much does it cost to tint car windows?
At our Scarborough studio, a full vehicle starts at $250 with ATC carbon film, $350 with CTX ceramic, and $450 with IRX premium ceramic. SUVs and crossovers add about $30 and trucks or vans about $50 over sedan pricing.
Is ceramic tint worth the higher price?
Usually, yes. CTX ceramic rejects up to 70% of heat and doesn't interfere with phone, GPS, or radio signals, while IRX premium ceramic blocks 97% of infrared for the coolest cabin. Carbon film still looks sharp and gives solid heat rejection — it's the right pick when budget is the priority.
Can I tint just the two front windows?
Yes. Two front windows run about 45% of the full-vehicle price — from $115 with ATC carbon. It's the most common job on trucks and SUVs that come from the factory with tinted rear glass.
How much does a full windshield tint cost?
Full-windshield film runs $220 for CTX 50%, $320 for IRX, or $350 for LLumar AIR 80, a clear ceramic film that blocks heat and UV with no dark look. One thing we're upfront about: a shaded full-windshield tint is not street-legal in Ontario, and any tickets or inspection issues are the owner's responsibility. We'll install it, but we won't pretend it's compliant.
