Window Tinting in Markham: What We See
Most Markham cars we tint spend their commute on Highway 7, the 404 or the 407 with sun coming through the side glass, then sit parked outside at work or in a plaza lot. That's where tint helps: less heat building up in the cabin, less glare, and less UV on the dash and seats. The usual install is a full car in LLumar CTX or IRX ceramic, with the front side windows at a legal 70% and darker film on the rear sides and back glass. Film is computer-cut and installed indoors at our 170 Finchdene Square studio, and most sedans are done the same day.
Recommended Package
CTX ceramic suits most commuters: $400 for a sedan, $430 for an SUV. IRX is LLumar's best heat rejection: $500 for a sedan, $530 for an SUV. ATC dyed film is $300 for a sedan if you mainly want privacy and a clean look. Trucks and vans add $50. Full-windshield film isn't legal in Ontario, clear films included, so we don't recommend it.

How much does window tinting cost in Markham?

The same as at our studio: a full sedan is $300 in ATC dyed film, $400 in CTX ceramic or $500 in IRX ceramic. SUVs and crossovers add $30, trucks and vans add $50, before HST. We confirm the final price in writing after a quick look at the car.
What tint is legal in Ontario?

Front side windows have to pass 70% light, glass and film measured together. Rear side windows, the back glass and roof glass have no limit. A windshield strip can come down 75 mm at most, and any full-windshield film fails inspection. We install to these limits by default.
How long does it take, and when can I roll the windows down?

Most sedans take 2 to 3 hours and SUVs or trucks 3 to 4. Keep the windows up for 3 to 5 days while the film cures. Small water pockets or haze in the first few days are normal and clear on their own.
Does ceramic tint turn purple like older films?

CTX and IRX are colour-stable charcoal ceramic films, so they're made not to turn purple. The LLumar Lifetime Limited Warranty covers cracking, peeling, demetallizing and unusual colour change, but not fading. It's for the original purchaser only and doesn't transfer if you sell the car.
Will ceramic tint affect my phone or GPS signal?

No. LLumar rates CTX for heat rejection without blocking electronic signal transmission, and lists easy electronic connectivity as a feature of IRX, so your phone and GPS keep working as normal.
